Phytopathology and microbiology research group
Laboratory of phytopathology
Head
Prof. Ing. Aleš Lebeda, DrSc.
Research activities
- Storage and complementation of phytopathogenic fungi collection, part of National Collection of microorganisms, database is published soon on web sites of Czech Ministry of Agriculture
- Biology and genetic variability of plant pathogens (esp. biotrophic fungi of Erysiphales (Golovinomyces cichoracearum, Podosphaera xantii, Oidium neolycopersici), Peronosporales (Bremia lactucae, Pseudoperonospora cubensis, Peronospora spp.) and Deuteromycetes (Fusarium spp.))
- Development of plant resistance screening methods for vegetable crops and their wild progenitors (field, glasshouse, growth chamber, laboratory tests)
- Taxonomy, biodiversity and genetic variability of plant genetic resources (e.g. Cucurbitaceae, Lactuca spp., Lycopersicon spp., Pisum spp.)
- Biodiversity and genetic variability of host-pathogen interactions in wild plant pathosystem (e. g. Lactuca spp. – Bremia lactucae, Golovinomyces sp.; Cucurbitaceae – Peronosporales, Erysiphales, Deuteromycetes, viruses; Lycopersicon spp. - Erysiphales; wild plant spp.- Erysiphales)
- Biodiversity and genetic variability of host-pathogen interactions in crop pathosystem (vegetable crops and their genetic resources (e.g. lettuce - Bremia lactucae; Cucurbitaceae – Peronosporales, Erysiphales; tomato - Erysiphales; peas – Fusarium spp.))
